Cancer Research has just published new figures showing that men are more than twice as likely to develop oral cancer than women; 5,300 men to 2,500 women. In addition , it is often diagnosed in younger men of ages between 45 to 59 years.

Nine out of ten cases are preventable if people cut their risk by reducing their alcohol intake and cease smoking. Regular visits to our Practice will allow your Dentist to find anything out of the ordinary at the dental health exam appointment and immediately commence remedial treatment either by ourselves or by referral to Specialist help.

We do not find serious problems very often but your Dentist can save your life, if you come to see us, so that we can help you with our specialised knowledge and experience.

Coronavirus Phase 2 - Dental Emergencies

From Tuesday 23rd June

Dental Practices in England were given Permission to re-open for certain emergency procedures, from the 8th June 2020. In Scotland, we heard from the Chief Dental Officer for Scotland on 18th June 2020 that the re-opening of Dental Practices could happen the following week – for Dental Emergencies.

It should be noted that Dental Practices will only be allowed to open ONE surgery, with one Dentist, and only see patients with a pre-arranged appointment, to examine them. We have still been limited to providing Advice, Antibiotics, Analgesics.

The crucial difference from Phase 1 is that we can now actually see our own patients for emergency appointments.
